TMT/ECHO

TMT / ECHO Facilties

Overview

Treadmill Test (TMT) is done to find the stress on the heart. On the machine the patient walks and the readings are taken. Treadmill Test machine from GE Marquette (USA) for stress test of heart. Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) is the recording of the electrical activity of the heart over time via skin electrodes.

For adults, the maximum predicted heart rate is 220 minus your age. So, if you're 40 years old, the maximum predicted heart rate is 220 – 40 = 180. For diagnostic treadmill testing, some doctors try to achieve about 85 percent of the predicted maximum heart rate.

Why TMT test is required ?

A treadmill test (TMT) or cardiac stress test helps determine how far your heart can go before an abnormal rhythm or blood flow to the heart muscle drops. It helps your doctor know how your heart responds on being pushed.
